Hawaii // Kauai Pt 1

We travelled to Kauai + it was as amazing as everyone says it is. I’ve been told that Kauai is the most beautiful of all the Hawaiian islands, and while I’ve never seen the other ones, I totally believe it. It was love at first sight/feel/smell for me.

We arrived pretty late on a flight from Los Angeles and stayed in a motel close to the airport. No sense in spending a lot of money for a few hours of sleep ; ) We woke up early the next morning to the sounds of roosters and headed to Waimea Canyon in our rental car. It was a little bit rainy and pretty foggy — so I was very happy. We did a little hike and because of the weather (and how early it was) we pretty much had everything to ourselves. After doing some exploring around the canyon we headed toward the north side of the island where we would be staying at the Palmwood for the first half of our trip. On our way we stopped off for a tour at Kauai Coffee Company and at Wailua Falls which were both pretty neat. Who doesn’t love a good cup of coffee + a waterfall?!

Once we made it to the North Shore and our first home on the island we were pretty beat, so we explored the property a bit and just chilled the f. out, which is basically how we spent the next few days — reading, swimming, outdoor shower-ing, eating homemade banana bread, and swinging in the hammock.
